BIAFF 2008 - Hosted by the North East Region

the festival of winners from
The 2008 IAC International Film & Video Competition

17th - 20th April 2008 at The Cairn Hotel, Harrogate - BOOK NOW

Welcome to Harrogate

We have chosen Harrogate again for this Festival because of the friendliness of its people and the beauty of the surroundings.

If you choose to venture beyond the many screen attractions in our Festival you will find an attractive market town, within walking distance of our Festival Hotel. Harrogate rose to fame in Victorian times as Yorkshire's Spa Town with its reputation based on the health-giving waters of an Elizabethan Sulphur Well. It grew in splendour with elegant Victorian buildings and wide open spaces.

Today Harrogate has quite a different role as a holiday and business centre welcoming thousands of visitors from all over the world.

Visit the Cairn Hotel's website. Take a virtual tour of Harrogate - click here.

THE GRAND FESTIVAL GALA on Saturday night is the highlight of the social side of the programme. Visitors look forward to meeting old friends from around the country, and abroad. This is always a happy occasion especially for those lucky people receiving IAC Fellowships.

QUALITY PRESENTATIONS: Over the weekend there will be Premiere presentation of the winners of the Geoffrey Round Audio Visual Competition. On Saturday mini-cinemas will show a vast selection of top quality entries from this year’s IAC International Competition. But if you can only join us for one day then make it Sunday, 20th.April for the Gala Show of the top winning films and the return of the Minute Movie competition judged by you, the audience.
We are looking forward to seeing you at Harrogate.

For your diary: BIAFF 2009 will be on 24th - 26th April 2009 hosted by CEMRIAC at The Chesterfield Hotel, Chesterfield.
