Programmes selected from the winning entries were shown  over four days in July on a 4.5 metre screen in The Studio Theatre, Wycliffe Junior College, Ryeford, Stonehouse, Gloucestershire. The culmination was Saturday evening's presentation of trophies and prizes.

THE WINNERS
124 entries from 21 countries made judging a marathon. The top award  for the Best Film of the Festival went to Terry Elding (pictured) whose stunning underwater videography and excellent editing made his study of life on a Maldive island absolutely fascinating.

Terry is a professional diver but an amateur movie maker.  He was not able to accept the award in person because he was under the sea! It was collected by Annette Witte who narrated the film's moving conservation message.

• Persistence. (James Irving, Romford).
