simple or complicated. Use our special - Music Advisory
Service to help find the best music for soundtracks.
Training courses on topics such as filming
technique, new technology and non-linear editing. Members can access our
Internet forum, where you will
usually find someone with the answer to any problem.

COPYRIGHT CLEARANCE
Our unique copyright clearance scheme covers
music used in non-commercial movies and AV sequences. Most music is covered
by strict copyright laws, with stiff penalties for infringement, but we can
provide members with inexpensive licences.
COMPETITIONS
Our International Amateur Film Competition attracts
movies from around the world. Entrants receive written comments from a panel
of expert judges. Award-winning movies may be chosen to represent the UK
in overseas competitions. Our clubs and regions also hold their own movie
competitions. We also run the annual Geoffrey
Round A-V Competition.
FESTIVALS
Each Spring, our British International Amateur Film
Festival shows the best amateur movies and AV sequences from the
UK and overseas. Your film could be shown in one of the several cinemas or,
perhaps, at the gala event where awards are presented from the International
Competition. The Autumn Convention usually features
a talk by an eminent film-maker, along with competitions and a programme
of social events. |

FILM AND VIDEO LIBRARY
Our Film and Video Library holds the world's
largest collection of outstanding amateur movies. In addition to winners
of national and international competitions, we have archive material going
back to the earliest days.
MUSIC DISCS
Recordings of music, often composed specially for movies and not publicly
available, from our music experts.
AWARDS OF EXCELLENCE
The Fellowship (FACI) award is made to members
who have either produced a portfolio of high standard films or who have made
an outstanding contribution to the movie movement.
Licenciates (LACI) are offered to other
accomplished film-makers. |

Our membership card confirms amateur status and can be very helpful with
obtaining permission to film in otherwise inaccessible places, at home or
