The Group hold regular meetings on the first Tuesday evening of the month, September to May at the Woosehill Community Hall, Wokingham. Its principal aim is to encourage the medium of slide-sound by exchanging and gaining knowledge through a member's programme and by also showing sequences for enjoyment and constructive comment. In addition, the Group organise whole day AV events in Spring and Autumn each year in the main hall at the same venue. These are well attended with many regulars travelling some distance. These AV Days take the format of attendee's sequences in the morning and experienced guest speakers after lunch. They normally have a trade stand and a popular Bring-and-Buy stall. The modern hall seats in excess of 100 visitors and can be effectively blacked out (sometimes a problem at venues!). It is on the ground floor and therefore accessible to disabled visitors. Due to its close proximity to a Safeway food store, there is ample car parking space. Wokingham is served by a good road network and is close to the M4 motorway. It is also on the Reading-Waterloo railway line with the station approx 1 mile from the hall with taxis always available. Further information about the Mid-Thames AV Group and its activities can be obtained from the Secretary: Peter Harms LRPS, 17 Westward Road, WOKINGHAM, RG41 3HU (0118 978 2709)
