Portsmouth Video Makers
Clubs Online

The club now meets at the Hilsea Community Centre, Howerd Road every Tuesday from 7.10pm.

We try to have many practical evenings including making or rehearsing a video, also members evenings of their own cine or video films.

There are several competition evenings from January Documentaries, "Spring", "Fun", "Autumn" and the Annual Competition on the first meeting in December with three independent judges. We intend to introduce a Holiday Competition shortly.

Local amateur shows are also recorded using four cameras. The club usually makes two themed story films each year for the Sussex Based "Albany" competition and
The North -v- South competition. Occasionally we visit neighbouring clubs. The "Quadrangle" competition takes place annually. This involves the Gosport, Portsdown, Chichester clubs and us. Programmes of twenty minutes are set with the previous years winners excluded they provide the judges.

Tips and editing techniques are picked up, we leam from each other. We have our own Casablanca Editing Machine which can be hired for £2 per week. New members are very welcome.
