The Autumn National Convention

IAC members take movie making seriously but they know how to relax too.  It is, after all, a leisure activity.  Clubs and regions have their own ways of providing enjoyable events where socialising is as important as the movies on show.

Our Autumn convention is hosted by a different IAC Region each year, in October. Each host gives the event its own special title and "flavour". Over a weekend it usually includes a guest speaker, a popular inter-regional movie battle for the Mermaid Trophy, and the 1-minute Mini-Mermaid competition both awarded by audience vote and the National AGM of the IAC.

There is always an extensive programme of social events and visits to places of interest. Bring your partner even if s/he is not a great movie fan they will have a happy weekend in good company. And bring your camera ... the excursions are always photogenic.

Coming Up

19th - 21st October 2012: the Autumn Convention and AGM will be hosted by North West Region IAC - possibly in the Cumbria Grand Hotel, Grange-over-Sand. Outings include lakeland tours by coach, train and boat. Guest speaker will be Professor Ray Johnson, FACI - lecturer, archivist, actor and film maker. For information contact Richard Curry.
