5. | ROOFTOP Omid Nooshin (Surrey) 'Life is a game', says the commentator at the start of this film. And although the story centres around a group of youngsters, there's a lot more to it than that! This is a really tense thriller, where all the elements seem to 'gel' perfectly - the acting, camerawork, lighting, editing, sound, and music (specially composed by David Perkins and Omid Nooshin) - everything, in fact! The director also co-wrote and co-produced. How gratifying to learn that the British Council has taken up this film for world-wide distribution! Widescreen format. Transfer from 16mm film. Guernsey Lily, Best Editing Award, Best Fiction 1997; IAC Best Open, Best British Open 1997; UNICA Gold Medal, Special Awards: Youth/Direction 1998 |
