BIAFF 2010 Awards Selection 4 - two disk set. (Library ref no. 110)
This is the fourth and final selection of entries from the BIAFF 2010 Competition. It includes standards ranging from 3 stars to IAC Diamond. There is approximately 2 hours of material to enable a club to choose an evening’s programme to suit themselves. Selection by Val Ellis, reviews by Michael Gough.
1. | LOVE BASILDON
PARK Geoff Addis (Berkshire) Geoff is meticulous with his photography, often assisting on other people’s films but this is one of his own. Basildon Park is a National Trust property and Geoff made this beautiful guide for disabled visitors who were unable to gain access to some areas of the house.

2. | GAMBIT
Chris Hetherington (Worcestershire) A fascinating minute spent in the company of a very talented card magician. The special effects are as intriguing as the sleight of hand. IAC Three Stars, 2010 |

AIR Willy Van der Linden (Belgium) A sweetly gentle story about a lonely old lady, ignored by her own family. She reminisces about her first love who taught her how to dance. As she says “Where did the time go?”

4. | DECEPTION Beveridge Brown Productions (Kent) An ambitious production from a group of youngsters. The time is 1943. The south coast of England is an area of military importance and two German spies have information that they must get back to Germany. IAC Four Star and Best Under-16 Entry 2010 |

5. | CANON ROCK- Old Meets
New Jürgen Liebenstein, (Germany) A rock version of Pachelbel’s “Canon” accompanies this intriguingly different view of a German city. IAC Three Stars 2010 |

6. | ALICE Bob & Pauline Wood (Staffordshire) It is 1969. Alice has worked “below stairs” in the manor house since before the First World War but she faces a different future after her employer dies. A gently paced drama that uses the background locations of a large house. IAC Three Stars, 2010 |

PASSION Brian Salmons (Norfolk) Who could imagine that a ruined Norfolk church lay hidden beneath a massive canopy of ivy. Since 1992 it has been Bob Davey’s passion to restore St.Mary’s. His trials and tribulations are extremely well documented in this fascinating film. IAC Five-Stars, 2010 |

KITTY! Ken & Jean McRonald (Dundee) Ken and Jean had to sign a disclaimer in case of injury before they could touch a tiger! This is a delightfully informative documentary about arguably the most beautiful of the big cats. IAC Three-Stars, 2010 |
