BIAFF - BRITISH INTERNATIONAL AMATEUR FILM FESTIVAL (Harrogate 2011)

Lathkill Dale in Derbyshire is a beautiful part of the limestone Dales. Its peace and tranquillity is well filmed with beautiful closeups of birds and wildflowers.

A moody, very well filmed atmospheric drama as young man remembers being left as a child with his grandmother while his mother went to have tests for breast cancer. Time and memories almost stand still in slow motion. (with subtitles)

A beautifully looking documentary that may be thought to glamorise a controversial subject. However whatever your political view this is worth watching.

A ghostlike man stalks the night streets of the city in this beautifully photographed black and white film. The poetry of the subtitles may be difficult to understand but the poetry of the images are stunning and original.

A racist thug is charged with a firebomb attack on a family of asylum seekers. That is only the start of an emotionally charged drama with imaginative filming in de-saturated colour and courageously unrushed editing. This film contains violence and strong language.
