While the London Olympics fast approaches, a major documentary project called
Britain In A Day is about to be filmed – by you. Britain In A Day will be
based upon Ridley Scott’s Scott Free Production Life In A Day, which was
created through editing together clips of occurrences from around the world on one
particular day, July 24 2010. Britain In A Day is a partnership between the BBC and Ridley Scott's Scott Free London and will provide a unique glimpse of contemporary British life. It will create a time capsule of Britain as well as a feature-length documentary to be screened next year on BBC Two. On 12 November this year you will have the opportunity to film something that captures the intimacy and singularity of your life and upload it to a dedicated channel on YouTube. The material uploaded should be the best samples of your rushes not an edited film. YouTube worked with Scott Free to create Life In A Day and will be supporting the BBC in the development of the Britain In A Day> film. Everyone will be able to upload footage of something significant in their lives. The project will be launched officially on The One Show in late October. Ahead of the filming date of 12 November, BBC Two will broadcast Life In A Day, which premiered at Sundance Film Festival earlier this year. |
