Kate Huckle
2002 Best Young Actress for 'Jennifer Says'

Portrait of Kate Huckle. Winner of the Best Young Actress Award for playing Olivia in Jennifer Says

Newly turned 13, Kate Huckle acts every inch the star ... confident, charming. Having some years of experience with Peppercorns Performing Arts she revelled in her role in Channel 7's disturbing drama produced by Darren Lalonde and Steve Muzolf.

An article about the production is slated for the May/June issue of Film & Video Maker magazine so let me just note:

Kate had worked with her co-stars, Louise Robinson, Amy Ramsden and Jo Ryan on previous productions.  Set in a mental hospital in the early years of the 20th century the film is a disturbing tale of madness and murder.  Two adults appear as unpleasant nurses but the weight of the drama falls on the four young women.  Building on the symptoms of their illnesses they manipulate and ultimately dominate those whom they see as their jailers. Still from 'Jennifer Says'.

Kate has performed with Peppercorn for some time and says she enjoyed this production. Pressed about the future she does not rule out acting but seems willing to consider a career later.  Prompted by Darren Lalonde she mentions appearing for one night on London's West End stage, followed by a stage in St.Neots.

You can see more about Channel 7 and Peppercorn Productions - and even buy copies of their movies - at their excellent web site.
