DAVID BLUNDELL is a freelance Technical Writer, based in the UK, and he writes, teaches and trains students - mainly in the spheres of Video and Digital Applied Imaging. His hobbies include escaping from the computer keyboard where ever possible, cooking, and having fun on dry land and underwater with domestic video equipment. Qualified originally as a Professional Photographer, and later as an Electronic Systems Engineer, he subsequently worked for several 'Blue Chip' companies, including Kodak, where he worked for 17 years providing direct applications support for new technologies. Over the last few years he has been involved with setting up ISDN Digital Image Transmission links from the Olympic Games, testing digital image capture devices in aircraft, and underground, and training photo-journalists to use Digital Cameras, as just part of his work. Today his work and hobbies 'fuse' closer, as he writes for both professional and domestic imaging publications, as well as continuing his work with Electronic Imaging. "In just a few years everyone will be able to capture affordable high quality digital pictures and audio" he said " today the word digital, for most folk, is still just a catalogue of confusing promises - and apparently little more exciting than the bar-code on a cereal pack - but ask the younger generation, and they know different"
