Three medals and the programme award for
Britain!
Kenneth Seeger, IAC Vice-Chairman, at the UNICA 2000 Festival in Roermond,
Netherlands, shows off the prizes:
Gold Medal for Christopher Mander's Perfect
Bronze Medal for Ron Prosser's Rose
Bronze Medal for 1000 Commitments To God by Pyramid Productions, Dave
Cook director)
and
the statuette for the best national programme in the festival. Together with
those above the very popular selection included Betty and Sam by Peter
Dunphy & Daniel Glynn (which won a Diploma) and Apocalypse by
Michael Goodden. |
Kenneth Seeger, IAC-Vorsitzendes, am Festival UNICA 2000 in Roermond,
die Niederlande, stellt weg von den Preisen dar:

 Life-sized statues
of Laurel and Hardy were on stage throughout the event, carrying the UNICA
2000 logo. The Dutch gently sent up their reputation as a dairy nation: for
each country that did not supply its own introductory film they showed a
herd of cows lowing the Laurel and Hardy theme tune ... finishing with a
caption of the country's name. When Britain's turn arrived that film
began ... then faded out ... as Val appeared hauling a pantomime cow on stage
to huge applause. When she turned the cow to reveal a "British Beef"
sign laughter and applause doubled. Only then did we see Doug Collander's
excellent intro movie.
 Here the truth is revealed ... the cow's front end
was played by Brian Dunckley (the rear by a young Dutchman, Ruud Kneefel.).
The international audience seemed to love quirky British humour.
Doug's intro built on that: a bowler-hatted gent looks round for a
restaurant ... all he sees are Chinese, Indian, Greek ... until at last he
grins as he spots Harry Ramsden's fish-and-chip shop! Many delegates
stopped us to praise that self-deprecatory joke - it got us off to a flying
start.

| Lebensdauer-sortierte Statuen des Laurel and Hardy waren auf Stadium
während des Falls und trugen das Firmenzeichen UNICA 2000. Die
Holländer sendeten leicht herauf ihr Renommee als Molkereination: für
jedes Land, das nicht seinen eigenen einleitenden Film angab, zeigten sie
Herde der Kühe, die eine den Laurel and Hardy Themamelodie... beendet
einen Untertitel des Namens des Landes lowing sind. Als Umdrehung
Großbritanniens ankam, daß Film... dann verblassen aus... anfing,
während Val aussah, schleppend eine pantomimekuh auf Stadium zum sehr
großen Applaus. Als sie die Kuh drehte, um ein "britisches
Rindfleisch" aufzudecken, verdoppelten Zeichengelächter und -applaus.
Nur dann sahen wir ausgezeichneten introfilm Doug Collander.
Hier wird der Wahrheit... das vordere Ende durch der Kuh wurde gespielt von
Brian Dunckley (die Rückseite einen jungen Dutchman, Ruud Kneefel.).
Die internationalen Publikum schienen, quirky britische Stimmung zu
lieben. Intro Doug aufgebaut auf dem: die gent Blicke eines Bowler-hatted,
die für eine Gaststätte... alle rund sind, die, er sieht, sind
Chinesisch, Indisch, Grieche... bis schließlich er grinst, während
er Fish-and-Chipsystem Harry Ramsden beschmutzt! Viele Delegierte
stoppten uns, um zu preisen daß Selbst-deprecatorywitz - er gelangte
uns weg an einen Fliegenanfang. |
Les statues du Laurel and Hardy étaient sur la scène dans
tout l'événement, portant le logo d'Unica 2000. Les
Néerlandais ont doucement envoyé vers le haut de leur
réputation comme nation de laiterie: pour chaque pays qui n'a pas
fourni son propre film préliminaire ils ont montré un troupeau
de vaches lowing le Laurel and Hardy thème... terminant avec une
légende du nom du pays. Quand le tour de la Grande-Bretagne
est arrivé que le film a commencé... alors fané hors
de... pendant que Val semblait transportant une vache à pantomime
sur l'étape aux applaudissements énormes. Quand elle
a tourné la vache pour indiquer "le boeuf britannique" le rire et
les applaudissements de signe ont doublé. Seulement alors nous
avons vu l'excellent film d'intro de Doug Collander.
Ici la vérité est indiquée... l'embout avant de la vache
a été jouée par Brian Dunckley (l'arrière par
un jeunes Néerlandais, Ruud Kneefel.). Les assistances
internationales ont semblé aimer l'humeur britannique quirky.
Intro de Doug construit sur celui: les sembler gent d'un chapeau melon ronds
pour un restaurant... tout qu'il voit sont Chinois, Indien, Grec... jusque
a l'enfin il grimace pendant qu'il repère le système de
poisson-frite de Harry Ramsden! Beaucoup de délégués
nous ont cessés pour féliciter que plaisanterie
d'individu-deprecatory - elle est descendue de nous à un début
de vol. |
