This blockbuster is set in April 1746 and begins at the Battle of Culloden. Young Donald escapes with his life, carrying the Cameron colours, but the victorious forces of the Duke of Cumberland, son of England's King George II, are searching the countryside for the surviving Highland rebels who have supported Bonnie Prince Charlie. Together with a young girl of the clan McDonald and her brother (who landed with the Prince from France), Donald crosses the country in an effort to reach the safety of his clansmen and to fly the blood-spattered flag aloft once more.
