The Educational Video Center in New York City promotes the educational use of video in schools and youth programmes all across the United States. This tape represents their 1989 Open Class entry into the IAC's International Film and Video Competition.

1. CRACK CLOUDS OVER HELL'S KITCHEN
A portrait of the people consumed in the vicious cycle of drug addiction, crime and hopelessness on West 46th Street, New York. A chilling view into the lives of the crack addicts who inhabit Hell's Kitchen Park, filmed by four youngsters (who had to disguise themselves in strange clothes) under the direction of Joan Jubela.

2. NEW YORK CITY AND THE HUDSON RIVER: DOWNSTREAM AND UP A CREEK
Made by the 1988 Fall Documentary Internship Class
The video explores the causes and consequences of pollution in the Hudson River, which is located on the west side of Manhattan Island, separating the state of New Jersey from New York.
