JUST PASSING BY
Leandro Blanco (Spain)
The maker is 'sitting on top of the world just watching all things go by'.
This is a glorious montage of things that have passed by his camera. The
harmonious sound-track consists solely of his own voice, multi-dubbed over
and over, and described delightfully on the end title as 'Lead voice and
vocals'.

THE LOST BEAT
Teannassie Primary School (Scotland)
This is a delightfully inventive piece of animation by these young film-makers
under the direction of Leslie Mackenzie. Thanks to Jack, a young lad fishing,
the Sun and the Moon realise that they are in love. All the children play
and dance, and everyone is happy; but unthinking Man and his thoughtlessness
brings about a change. . . Produced by John McGeoch with funding by Highlands
& Islands Enterprise and Clown Jewels.

IT'S JUST A DREAM
Leandro Blanco & Yvonne Gil (Spain)
A brilliantly synchronised and edited collage of sea scenes and underwater
images. The video is full of complicated visual techniques, using slow-motion,
freeze-frames, impressive superimpositions and carefully-timed mixes, all
set to the familiar Bolero by Ravel. As the music builds, the magnificent
visual imagery becomes more and more intricate.
