THE BEST IAC CLUB WEBSITE AWARDS 2012

At the closing date, 31st January 2012, there were 41 entries - an 13% increase on last year.
Peter Kidman and Dave Watterson assessed them all and prepared multi-page notes on each entry which will be sent to entrants late in March. They then drew up the shortlist:

Altrincham Video Society www.altvideo.co.uk
Backyard Productions http://backyardproductions.co.uk
Bristol Film And Video Society www.bristolvideo.org.uk
Channel 7 www.channel7.org.uk
Orpington Video & Film Makers www.ovfm.org
Reading Film & Video Makers www.readingfilmandvideomakers.org.uk
Staines Video Makers www.stainesvideo.co.uk
Teign Film Makers Club www.teignfilmmakersclub.org

Peter and David were joined by last year's winner, Neil Cryer, and by the IAC webmaster, Jan Watterson for the final judging.

They soon agreed that we needed a separate award for the best website of a club which is more of a production group than a club in the traditional sense, with regular meetings, competitions, speakers and so on. In this category came Channel 7 and Backyard Productions - both impressive websites, but the decision went to:

Backyard Productions for the sheer enthusiasm of their site.

After considerable discussion the main category came down to two sites.  Eventually the judges simply could not separate them. Though very different each has strengths, a mass of information, a welcoming approach, sample videos and much more ... so the decision was to make a joint award to:

Bristol Film And Video Society and Reading Film & Video Makers

Hearty congratulations to all the webmasters whose sites made it to the shortlist and especially to our winners.
