1. FINAL CALL
Orpington Video & Film Makers (Kent)
When her husband dies, elderly Mrs Lewis (Betty Purcell) is left all alone in her big house. Her daughter, Joan (Allison Purcell), and son-in-law, Tom (Malcolm Mountjoy), suggest that they move in to look after her. Their motives, however, are far from charitable ... Directed by Derek Allen from his story co-written with Reg Lancaster.
IAC Silver Seal 1994; IAC Gold Seal, Best Club Award 1995

2. REQUIEM FOR A BLUE PLANET
Leandro Blanco (Spain)
It is the year 2500. The sun is on a collision course with the Earth and the last space- shuttle has left for the new motherland. The wild animals that populate a small group of islands in the South Pacific are the only creatures that remain to witness the last sunrise, a nightmarish scene in which flames engulf both land and sea. Stunning images, superb special effects and a fine music track written and performed by the maker himself.
BAVA Trophy, 1st prize, Best Music Video 1994; IAC International Award, Best Photography Award, Best Sound Award 1995

3. GREENER
Mark Osborne (USA)
A blue and a green creature are experimenting in a laboratory with various items of equipment ... This is a brilliant work of plasticine animation combined with what appear to be real items. There are also some nice touches of humour.

4. TRUE FICTION
William Hooke (USA)
Eddie Stafford (David Douglas) is a college student 'hooked' on 1940s/50s-style gangster movies who writes stories in the same vein. When he gets caught up accidentally in a modern-day drugs deal it's as though he is living one of those stories - except that it's for real, both for himself and his girlfriend ... This is a tense thriller, well directed, shot, scripted and edited.
Transfer from 16mm film.

UNSUITABLE FOR CHILDREN
