BIAFF 1995 Awards Selection 5
This selection contains two International Award- winners (one Open class and one Amateur) and two awarded Gold Seals (also one Open class and one Amateur). All four were premiered during the movie 95 weekend, April 7-9, 1995, at the Palace Hotel, Buxton, Derbyshire.

2. | REQUIEM FOR A BLUE PLANET Leandro Blanco (Spain) It is the year 2500. The sun is on a collision course with the Earth and the last space- shuttle has left for the new motherland. The wild animals that populate a small group of islands in the South Pacific are the only creatures that remain to witness the last sunrise, a nightmarish scene in which flames engulf both land and sea. Stunning images, superb special effects and a fine music track written and performed by the maker himself. 4. | TRUE FICTION William Hooke (USA) Eddie Stafford (David Douglas) is a college student 'hooked' on 1940s/50s-style gangster movies who writes stories in the same vein. When he gets caught up accidentally in a modern-day drugs deal it's as though he is living one of those stories - except that it's for real, both for himself and his girlfriend ...
