5. WORDS OF DECEPTION
Kristian Digby (Devon)
A powerful and moving autobiographical account about dyslexia which looks back at how the 17-year-old maker was treated at school, particularly prior to his diagnosis at 16. Excellent computer graphics and animation give a taste of what it is like to be dyslexic - words, letters and numbers become confused and, as the maker puts it, ' ... move and dance around on the page'.
Guernsey Lily 1995; BAVA Trophy, Best Experimental Video 1994

6. ONE NIGHT IN MAY
St. Cuthbert Films (Newcastle-on-Tyne)
This talented group once again uses a true incident and puts its own interpretation on it most effectively - with amusing and dramatic results. This time the setting is World War II, and a lot of trouble has been taken to get the details correct. The leading players are Jonathan Forster, as Mattie, and Jonathan Swales, as Tom. Original screenplay by David Peffer; production adviser: Frank Hodges.
Guernsey Lily, Best Fiction, Best Acting Award 1995; IAC Gold Seal 1995
