NORTH v SOUTH FINALISTS 1996
The North v South Competition Final is between five entries from the south of Britain and five from the north. The competition was originally founded by the late John Wright, FACI. The Set Theme for 1996 was 'Cover Up'.

1. | THE LADY IN WHITE Circle Eight (Surrey) We see a middle-aged woman (Carol Day) getting dressed in a long white flowing dress, white hat with veil, long lacy gloves and a white umbrella, to take a walk along the nearby beach, where she is a well-known figure. He discovers from a TV newscast that he is wanted in connection with the loss of the 'Anastasia Star', a diamond cluster which is part of the Russian State jewellery collection. He immediately reports to the police - who don't believe his story. But what did happen ... ?
