THE WAY IT WAS ('94)
One of a series of programmes produced by Grampian Television, this contains
an excerpt from the film Movieman by the late Ron Miller, FACI, about
the historical development of the cinema and featuring famous cinema manager
Jimmy Nairn (complete film available as lib. no: FT 5). After a discussion
and a commercial break - without any commercials! - there is a screening
and discussion of a film discovered by a viewer in some rubbish (!), which
was thought to have been shot circa 1912, and includes footage of Slains
Castle and Couden Bay Hotel, believed to have been filmed by the Great North
of Scotland Railway.
Donated by the makers. |
