I WANNA BE A BIDET
John & the Meanies (Surrey)
1. | The Concise Oxford Dictionary states: 'bi'det n. Low basin for washing,
esp. of the genital region'. It does not, therefore, take much thought to
realise that the humour level will not suit all tastes. It is, however, a
very funny and extremely well-made pop video which has the additional merits
of being original, witty and excellently performed. John & the Meanies
(alias Clive Freeman-Edmondson, Sean Mahoney, Jeremy and John Bevan) say
that they have been writing and recording their own comedy sketches and songs
onto audio cassettes 'since shortly after they learned to talk'. In 1985
they decided that they would attempt their first video based on a song they
had written and originally recorded some years previously. Meanies' friend
Paul Monaghan took charge of the artwork (cut-out bidets, etc.) as well as
the camerawork. MAY OFFEND SOME VIEWERS IAC Gold Seal (Youth) 1987 Donated by the makers |
